Defector's Stories

As I was finishing the last post, I just stumbled on a whole section in The Daily NK which is devoted to Defector's Stories. I thought that that would be pretty interesting for others to look at going along with the defecting family story...

I've gone on this site before. An interesting thing I remember reading about North Korean defectors was that they can't always be trusted. It wasn't because North Korean defectors were lying or anything, but because of the policy of sending entire families to jail for the mistake of one person, I read that North Korean defectors are not as willing to be open because of those fears. I find this so incredibly sad that these victims can't truly speak to anybody and that they have to live with the guilt of their families going to forced labor camps.
