China as possible muscle against NK nuclear program?

Found this article in my browsing of current news that suggests China may in fact serve as some muscle against North Korea's insistance on being a nuclear power. Could these two nations come to blows or how will KJI react to an ultimatum of "dire consequences" imposed by China regarding a spoke of nuclear test in NK?

There is absolutely no threat from China to North Korea, even if NK was to conduct a nuclear test. NK has no stronger ally than the Chinese. These warnings of "grave consequences" are simply Hu Jintao's way of appeasing the United States, by seeming to enunciate a hard line against Kim Jong-il.

It seems in this article that China is trying to exercise its ancient big brother status over North Korea. No wonder North Korea acts up so much...
