Golf in North Korea?

Interesting tidbit I found today. The DPRK is planning to build a lavish golf course at the Mt. Kumgang resort to try to attract more South Korean tourists. This is still so ironic, how people are starving yet the government wants to bring in foreign dollars to fill its own pockets.

    Writing nitpicker on patrol here -- That's NOT irony. It's just a shame, like most of the things in that equally innacurate alanis morrisette song.

    North Korea started to pursue tourism in the 1980s. The largest project in support of this goal was the Ryukyong hotel, the large pyramid shaped concrete structure that towers abandoned over north korea's capital, Pyongyang.
