They..."Can we imagine what these people do on farm? They are looking for frogs, snakes, even mice, and grass. They are hungry! America and other countries put economic sanction on North Korea and stop sending food aid to them. They do not punish Kim Jong Il, but these innocent people. Why do we care about this bad guy and ignore those hungry people?"<BR/><BR/>That is the first thought that occurs to most people's minds. However- firstly, the US is the largest donor of food aid in the entire world to North Korea. These nations North Korea criticizes incessantly- the US, South Korea, send tons upon tons of fertilizer, grain, food, cheese, beans, corn- THEY are one of the greatest reasons why North Koreans are still alive to this day. <BR/><BR/>The other important fact that most people don't consider is that while the US does maintain sanctions against North Korea, they're very ineffectual- they only ban US folks from trading with North Korea- how many American businesses have or want to have businesses in North Korea? A US sanction is neither a blockade, nor does it apply to other nations. Fiat, the European car maker, maintains a factory in North Korea, as do other foreign firms. A US sanction has more bark than bite.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
